Be it known to all whom it may concern that I Adam Whitesides of the state of North Carolina for divers good causes and Considerations but more Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty pounds and seven pence in hand paid by Negro Ben of the County of Amherst and State of Virginia and the further promise of forty four pounds from the said Negro Ben, Slave to the said Whitesides. The said Adam Whitesides for himself his heirs exors admtors doth hereby Warrant and secure to the said Negro Ben, his freedom and [illegible] from a state of slavery and doth further more warrant to the said negro Ben, all rights and privileges which can be conveyed to people of coulur under the laws of this Comonwealth in Witness whereof the said Adam Whitesides hath set his hand and fixed his Seale this ninth day of December One thousand seven hundred and ninety five
