Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Doncastle of George Town in the County of Washington and
District of Columbia for divers Considerations me thereunto moving but more especially for the consideration
of one hundred Dollars money of the United States secured to be paid unto me my Executors Administrators
and assigns in two years from the date of these presents by quarter yearly payments Have Liberated
Emancipated and Manumitted and by these presents Do Liberate Emancipate and manumitt Lender Lewis a
Female Slave belonging unto me the said Elizabeth Doncastle and all the future children which may be born of
the said Lender Lewis and I Do by these presents Release and Discharge the said Lender Lewis and all the
Children of said Lender Lewis which may be born after the date of these presents from all service to be
rendered unto me my Heirs Executors and administrators
and I the said Elizabeth Doncastle [do?] for myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators covenant grant and
agree to and with the said Lender Lewis that I the said Elizabeth Doncastle my Heirs Executors or
Administrators will at no time forever hereafter ask demand or require of the said Lender Lewis or any
children which may be born of her after the Date of these presents any Service to be rendered by her or any
such Children unto me or my Heirs Executors or Administrators after the date of these presents. In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this 13th day of May 1802

December 1802.
This deed of Manumission from Elizabeth Doncastle to Negro Lender Lewis was proved by the oath of Joseph
Cary and ordered to be Certified
