To all whom these presents shall come, greetings no that in pursuance of the provisions of the
last will and testament and codicil thereto of John Watson deceased of the county of Bedford and
state of Virginia of which I Robert K. Kelso am sole executor which will is dated the 31st day of
March 1855 and the codicil is dated the 29th day of September 1855 and were admitted to
probate at a court held for Bedford County on the 25th day of May 1857 I the said Robert N
Kelso the sole executor is aforesaid of the said last will and testament of the said John Watson
deceased as hereby assent to the legacy of freedom bequeath in the said last will and testament to
the following persons of colour late slaves of the said decedent but in virtue of the said last will
and testament and these presents are now entitled to their freedom namely Woodson, Pamelia,
Rhoda, and, Charles, Mary, Mariah, Edy, George, Charlotte, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Sam Wesley,
and Henry Mitchell a child of Pamelia from since the date of the will. In testimony whereof I
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of October one thousand eight hundred
and fifty eight.

In the clerks office of the county court of Bedford County October 9th 1858. This deed of
emancipation from Robert N Kelso executor of John Watson deceased to Woodson and others
late slaves of said decedent was produced in said office acknowledged by the said Robert N
Kelso and admitted to record.
