Wills Book 14 327
In the name of God Amen. I Dolly Durrett of the county of Bedford and State of Virginia as
make and acknowledge this to be my last will and testament that is to say it is my will and desire
that all my just debts shall be paid. It is my further will and desire that all my slaves to wit
Henry, Benny, Anne, and her increase if any shall be free at my death. And it is my further will
the tract of land on which I now reside and the rest of my property of every kind whatever shall
be and the proceeds divided equally amongst my three above named slaves to wit Henry Benny
and Anne. And I hereby revoke and annul all testaments and wills which have been heretofore
made by me. And do hereby appoint and name Robert C Mitchell and Lodowick McDaniel of
the aforesaid county and state to be the executors of this my last will and testimony. This
ninetenth day of April one thousand eighteen hundred and fifty two.

This last will and testament of Dolly Durett deceased was produced in court and therupon Henry
Clay Dickinson and Orville P Bell subscribing witnesses thereto being duly sworn state that the
testatrix acknowledged the said writing to be her last will and testament in their presents, if they
in the presence of the testatrix at her request and in the presence of each other subscribed their
names as witnesses thereto and that the testatrix at the times of their witnessing the same was
capable of making said will and it is ordered that the same be recorded. And on the motion of
Robert C Mitchell one of the executors in said will named made oath and together with Pleasant
Preston, William T Campbell and Fountain M Hawkins his securities entered into and
acknowledged bond in the penalty of three thousand dollars conditioned according to law.
Certificate is granted for him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form Lodewick McDaniel the
other executor in said will named refused to qualify.
