In the name of God Amen. I Ann M Flood of the County of Bedford, State of Virginia, being of
sound and disposing mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and
testament. I direct my executor hereafter named out of the first monies which may come into his
hands and pay all my just debts and funeral expenses. I give to my servant Jefferson, for and on
account of his fidelity to me and who by the will of my deceased husband becomes a freeman at
my death, the sum of two hundred dollars and one good work horse to be selected out of any on
hand at the time of my death, Which sum of money and horse will enable him to remove to a free
state, should he not be permitted to remain in this state. I give to Nancy who is now a free
woman, but who will in all probability remain with me during my life the sum of
two hundred dollars and one milk cow which said legacies to Jefferson and Nancy I desire to be
paid over to them as soon as my executor can do so after the payment of my just debts. I give and
bequeath to Cinderella Whitten the sum of one hundred dollars and one feather bed and furniture
to be her and her heirs forever. It is my express wish and desire that my executor cause to be
erected around the grave of my deceased husband and myself a plain substantial enclosure of
stone, at the cost of my estate. I give and bequeath to Dr. Washington Flood my step son all the
rest and residue of my estate not herein before disposed of to him and his heirs forever I hereby
constitute and appoint my friend Robert C Mitchell executor of this my last will and testament,
hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me made. In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this 25 day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
