Whereas by the Last Will and Testament of Addison Davies deceased the executor of his said
will were directed to emancipate and free certain of the slaves of said Davies who should elect so
to be emancipated on there arriving at the age of twenty eight years and whereas Cinda Davies
one of the slaves of said Davies entitled to this election has signified her wish so to be
emancipated. Now therefore know all men by these presents that I Robert T Coleman executor of
the will of said Davies duly recorded in the Hustings Court of the Corporation of Lynchburg
have manumitted and forever set free and do hereby manumit and free the said Cinda,
relinquishing all right and claim whatever to her future services. In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of August in the year 1847.

This deed of emancipation from Robert S Coleman executor of Addison Davies decd. To Cinda
