Whereas by the last will and testament of Addison Davies deceased which said will is of record
in the clerks office of the Hustings Court of the Corporation of Lynchburg Virginia the executors
of the said Davies were directed in certain contingencies which have occurred as of the slave
Watt hereinafter named do emancipate and set at liberty certain of the slaves of said Davies of
whom said Watt is one. Now therefore know all men to whom these presents shall come that I
Robert A Coleman as executor of the decd. Davies have emancipated and do hereby emancipate
and set free the said Watt who is called Watt Davies. Conferring upon him as far as in my power
All the rights and privileges to which such emancipation entitles him. In testimony whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of February 1846.

At a court held for Bedford County June 22nd 1846.
This deed of emancipation from Robert L Coleman executor of Addison Davies deceased to
Watt one of the slaves who was ordered in the last will of said Davies to be emancipated by his
executor, was produced in court proven by the oath of Robert E Morrison and William T Yancey
subscribing witnesses thereto and order to be recorded.
