Wheareas by the last will and testament of Addison Davies deceased, of record in the Clerks
office of the Hustings Court of Lynchburg, the executor of the said Davies was authorized and
directed to discharge from servitude, certain slaves of the said Davies after their respectively
arriving at the age of twenty eight years, Now therefore, know all men to whom these presents
shall come that Stepney, Dick and Willis, three of the slaves falling within the provisions of the
will of said Davies and having arrived at the age prescribed in said will, are hereby declared free
and discharge entirely and fully from all contracts for servitude, In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 24th day of February 1844.

This deed of emancipation from Robert C. Coleman executor of Addison Davies deceased to
Stepney and others was produced in Court proven by the oath of Nathaniel C. Manson and
Robert E. Manson subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
