Know all men by these presents, that I, Thomas McKinney, for divers
good causes, me thereunto moving, and also for the consideration
of one dollar in hand, to me paid by Hannah (Sometimes called
Hannah McKinney) at and before the sealing and delivery of
these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have
emancipated and forever set free and released from bondage
and by these presents do emancipate and forever set free
and release from bondage, the said Hannah, sometimes
called Hannah McKinney. & I do covenant, that
she shall enjoy freedom, against the claim or claims
of myself, my Heirs, & all persons claiming under
me. but not otherwise. Given under my Hand & Seal
the 23 of November 1841.

The within deed of emancipation from Thos. McKinney
to his slave Hannah was this day ackd. [acknowledged] in Open Court
