I William Burd of the town of Lynchburg from a conscious belief that that liberty is the natural
right of all mankind do hereby declare that my negro woman Fanny now considered the wife of
Charity Lacy on and after the 15th day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred twenty
shall be entirely and forever free from me or any person or persons claiming under me together
with all her increase from and after this day given under my hand and seal this 10th day of
March 1814.
