Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Schoolfield of the town of Lynchburg and state
of Virginia for diverse causes thereunto moving do emancipate and set free a negroe woman now
said to be my property aged about eighteen years by the name of Charity Rose and which said
liberation is to take place on the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty five,
and do for myself my heirs I set free the said Charity at the said period of 1825 and her increase
as they arrive at lawful age. Given under my hand and seal this 6th day of February 1815.
