I William Davis Jnr. of Campbell County Virginia from mature deliberate consideration and the
conviction of my own mind being fully persuaded that freedom is the natural right of all mankind
and that no law moral or divine has given me the right to or property in the persons of any of my
fellow creatures, and having desirous to fulfill the injunction of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ by doing to others as I would be done by, do therefore declare that having under my care a
negroe woman named Winney about forty years with her three children namely, Peggy aged
seven years in the fifth month next ensuing, Feander aged five years in the seventh month next
ensuing, and Patty aged one month. I do hereby for myself my heirs Exor and Admins. release
unto her the said Winney, all my right interest and claim or pretentions of claim whatsoever to
her person or to any estate she may hereafter acquire. Also to her three children as above
mentioned now in their minority to their persons or any estate they shall acquire after the girls
shall arrive to the age of eighteen years and the boy to the age of twenty one years without any
interruption from me, or any person claiming for, by, from or under me. In witness Whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th day of the 4th month 1806.

The within Manumission was acknowledged by William Davis Jnr. party thereto and ordered to
be recorded.
