I Gideon Lea of Campbell County from Mature Deliberate Consideration and the Conviction of my own mind,
do fully Believe that freedom is the Natural Right of all mankind and that no law Moral or Divine Can give
me aright to, or property In the Person of my fellow Creatures, Do therefore Declare that, having under my
Care, two Negros of the following names, and ages, that is, Betty aged about fourty [forty] fore [four], &
Milley, about twenty years, I Do hereby Emancipate, and Set free the Said Negros, for them to Enjoy their
freedom in as full and ample a manner as if they were born of free parents without any Interuption
[interruption] from me or any person Claiming for by from or under me Either to their Persons or to any Estate
they may hereafter Acquire In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 1st Day of the 1st
