I James Johnson of Campbell County being full persuaded that freedom is the natural right of all
mankind and that it is my duty to do to others as I would desire to be done by in the like situation
and having under my care four negroes of the followeth names and ages as followeth Harry aged
Twenty six years, Tamer aged forty years, Nany aged twenty eight Miley aged twenty. I do here
by Emancipate and sett free the above named slaves and I do for myself my heirs Executors
Administrators relinquish all my right Title Interest and claim or pretention of claim whatsoever
Either to their persons or to any estate they may hereafter acquire. And having also under my
care six negroes in their minority of the following names and ages Matt thirteen years and six
months Sarah aged seven years and six months, Jean aged four years and six months, Simon
aged four years and six months, Moorman aged one year and three months whom I also
Immancipate and sett free and I do for my self my heirs Executors Administrators relinquish all
my Right Title Interest and claim or pretention of claim what soever either to their persons or to
any Estate they may acquire after they shall arrive to the age Twenty or Eighteen yearsthe said
Negroes and their Posterity are to Injoy their freeom in as full and ample manner as if they had
been born of free Parents without any Interuption from me or any person claiming for by or
under me. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this fifth day of the ninth
month 1782

Johnson Party thereto and ordered to be recorded_
