I John Lynch of Campbell County being fully Pursuaded that freedom is the Natural Right of all
mankind & that it is my duty to do unto others as I would be done by in the like Situation & having under my
Care four Negroes Names & Ages as followeth Tom aged fifty five years Peter Hachett aged thirty nine years
Nanny aged thirty five years Esther thirty four years I do hereby Mancipate [Emancipate] & Sett free the
above Named Slaves, & do for myself my heirs Executrs [Executors] Adminrs [Administrators] Relinquish all
my Right title Interest & Claim or Pretention of Claim whatever, Either to their persons or to any Estate they
may hereafter acquire -- & haveing also twelve more under my Care in their minority of the following names
& ages William aged Nineteen years Joe aged Seventeen years & Six months, Isaac aged fifteen years & Six
months Lucey, aged fifteen years & Six months Sarah aged thirteen years & Six months Jean aged Twelve
years & Six months Agetha aged ten year & Six months Esther aged nine years & Six months Amey aged
Seven years & Six months Rachel aged four years Hanner aged one year & two months Nancey aged two
years & Eight months, whom I also Immancepate [emancipate] & Sett free & do for my self my heirs Excurs
Admnrs Relinquish all my right title Interest & Claim or pretention of Claim whatsoever Either to their
persons or to any Estate they may acquire after they shall attain to the age of twenty one or Eighteen years
when the Sd [said] Negroes & their Posterity are to Enjoy their freedom in as full & ample a Maner [manner]
as if they had been born of free Parents without any Interruption from me or any person for by or Under me in
Wittness [witness] whereof I have here unto Sett my hand & Seal this 5th day of the 9th moth 1782 John

At a Court held for Campbell County September 5th 1782. This Manumission was Acknowledged by John
Lynch Party thereto and Ordered to be Recorded. Teste. Ro. Alexander C.C.C. [Clerk of Campbell County]
