In the Name of God Amen I John Mahanes of the _
County of Norfolk Being very sick and weak but sound
in my understanding and mind I Do make this my last
will and Testament, Item I Bequeath and gave unto my
beloved wife Elizabeth Mahanes one half of my estate
after all my Juste a Comps is settled to her and her
heirs for ever, Item I bequeath and gave unto my beloved
Daughter Nancey Mahanes the other half of my estate
to her and her heirs for ever Lawfully begotten of her
Body and if the said Nancy Mahanes my Daughter
should die without a Lawfull Issue of her Body

Item I bequeth and gave unto my half Brother Philip
Waddy and Lucy and Nelley and William Waddeys my
Daughter Nancy Mahanes part of my estate to be Equal
devided between them and their heirs for ever, Conclud=
=ing my wife should not have a nother Child by me. --
Item After my death I gave my Old negro winnee her
Freedom hir life, This I acknowledge to be my last
will In the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and ninety three October the 10th ,

At a Court held for Norfolk County the 20th day of January
1794. This last will and testament of John Mahanes decd
was proved by the oathes of James Waddey and Polly Wilkinson
witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And there being
no Executors named in the said will on the motion of --
Elizabeth Mahanes who made oath and together with
William Marley her Security entered into and acknowledg
=ed their Bond in the penalty of two thousand Dollars
conditioned as the Law directs Certificate is granted
her for obtaining letters of Administration on the said --
decedents estate with the will annexed in due form,
