We Abraham Johnson and John Denson of Isle of Wight County Virginia having
under our Care one Negro boy named Harry who is now in his minority and will be
Twenty One Years age in the Twelfth Month one thousand seven Hundred and
Ninety six who has been heretofore held as a slave but being fully persuaded that
freedom is the natural right of all mankind and that it is our duty to do to others as
we would be done by in the like situation do for our selves our Heirs Executors and
administrators hereby emancipate and free the above named slave (saving to ourselves
our Heirs and assigns the care and direction of him untill he arrives to lawfull age)
and do hereby relinquish all our right, title, Interest and claim or pretention of claim whatsoever
as to his person or any estate he may hereafter acquire. the above said negro and his posterity to
enjoy their full freedom without any interruption from us or any person or persons claiming
for by or under us In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this
twenty third day of the eleventh month in the year of Lord one thousand seven hundred and
ninety three

acknowledged by Abraham Johnson and John Denson parties thereto and Ordered to be Recorded
