We William Hollowell an Susanna his wife of Isle of Wight County being
fully pursuaded that freedom is the natural right of all mankind & it is our
duty to do unto Others as we would be done by in the like situation and having under
our Care Seven Negroes which heretofore has been held as Slaves of the following names
and aged (towit) aggatha forty two & Aggy forty two and fillis Twenty three years &
Ephraim aged Seven Years & Daniel five Years & polly one Year Luorney aged
Eight Months all and every of whom we do hereby Emancipate & set free &
do for ourselves our Heirs &c. relinquish all our right title Interest & Claim or
pretention of Claim whatsoever either to their Persons or to any Estate they or
ither of them may hereafter acquire without any interruption from us any other person

or persons claiming for by from or under us reseving Only toour selves our Heirs &c. the care
& management of the above named Ephreim & Daniel Polly and Lucrecy (who being in their
nonage till they shall respectively arive the Mail to the age of Twenty one years & the femail to the
age of Eighteen Years, that is, Ephreim to be free the first of the first Month in the year 1810
Daniel the first day of the first Month 1812 And Polly the first day of the first Month 1813 and
Lucreecey the first day of the first Month 1814 In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our
hands & Seals the thirtieth day of the first Month in the year of our Lord One thousand seven
Hundred and Ninety Six
