We the Subscribers having a Lawfull right to the after named Negroes (to wit) Kate aged
about fifty years Pomppy aged about 36 & Lucy aged about 34 years we do hereby
emancipate and Set free the above named Negroes and do for our selves our heirs Exors & admors hereby
relinquish all our right title Interest and Claim or pretention of Claim whatsoever as
to there person or to any estate they may hereafter acquire. and having a Lawfull right also to a
Negrow Boy ^named Mills who is now in his minority & aged about One year & Six months we do in
like manner hereby Emancipate and Set free the above said Negrow Mills and do for our
Selves our heirs Exors. & admors hereby relinquish all our right Title Interes and Claim or pretention
of Claim whatsoever as to his person or to any Estate he may acquire after he shall attain
to the age of Twenty one years Saving to our Selves our heres Exors & admors Care & derection of
the above said Negrow Boy untill he arrives to the age above mentioned all & every of the
above Said Negroes and their posterity to enjoy their freedom without any Molestation or
Interruption from us or any Person or persons Claiming for by or under us. In Witness
whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and Seals this 28th day of December in the year of
our Lord 1794.

At a Court held for Isle of Wight County the 3d day of February
1794 — this Emancipation was partly proved by the affirmation of
Lemuel Eley one of the Witnesses thereto and Continued for further
proof — and at a Court held for Isle of Wight the 7th day of July
1794 — the said Emancipation was fully proved by the affirmation of
Thomas Newby the other witness thereto and ordered to be recorded
