This Deed made the second day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty six
Witnesseth, that I Abigail Hoff, widow, of Frederick County Virginia in consideration
of the long and faithful service of my negro woman Polly, do hereby emancipate and set
free the said Negro Woman Polly Taylor, aged about fifty years, about five feet three
inches in height dark mulatto colour and who has hitherto lived with me and been my slave,

County of Frederick, to wit -
I James Cather a justice of the peace for the County aforesaid
in the State of Virginia do certify that Abigail Hoff, Widow, whose name is signed to
the writing above bearing date on the 2nd day of December 1856 has acknowledged the
same before me in my County aforesaid
