Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin F. Mackall of the County of Fairfax and State of Virginia, for divers good and valuable considerations, me thereunto moving, do hereby manumit, emancipate and set free from slavery my negro man named Robert, otherwise Robert Gunnell, and I hereby discharge him from all further servitude to me and my heirs.
Witness my hand and seal this 6th day of November 1851.

I W.W. Ball, a Justice of the Peace for the county aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Benjamin F. Mackall whose name is signed to the writing hereto annexed bearing date the 6th day of November 1851 has acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 3rd day of June 1856.
