Know all men by these presents that I Jonah Thompson have thought fit to emancipate and set free, and by this instrument of writing do emancipate and set free negro Daniel, hereby renouncing all further claim, right, or title to him as my property and giving him as fully as I am able to give him from the date hereof forever entire liberty to go whether soever he may judge proper, and in all things to act and do as a free man. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentieth day of November 1793.

At a court held for the County of Fairfax 16th December 1793. This deed of manumission was proved by the oath of George Deneale. And at a court held for the county aforesaid 20th January 1794, this deed of manumission was proved by the oaths of James Wallace to be the act and deed of Jonah Thompson which is ordered to be recorded.
