To all to whom this present writing shall come, know ye that I William Bushby of the County of Fairfax & State of Virginia for good causes me thereunto moving do absolutely manumit & discharge from future service a negro woman named Sarah now of the age of thirty five years which said negro to be full liberty from this day, the said negro being my own proper right & not subject to the claim of any person or persons whatever. And in order that this deed may be made valid in law my desire is that the same may be admitted to record. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 17th February 1789.
