I Mary Hathcock of the County of Brunswick
and State of Virginia do hereby set free from Bondage one
Negro man Named (Daniel Grain) and I do for myself my
heirs Executors adm'tors & assigns release unto the said negro
(Daniel Grain) all my right and all my claim whatsoever
as to his person or any estate he may acquire hereby declaring
the said Negro absolutely free without any interruption
from me or any person or persons claiming under me from
this date In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand &
affixed my seal this 21st day of September 1793.

This Deed of Emancipation from Mary Hathcock
