In the name of God amen I William Walker of the County
of Brunswick and parish of Saint Andrews being desirous of disposing
of such Worldly goods as it has pleased god to endow me with---------
I give & desire as followeth,after my Debts are paid & all Accounts
together with Merchants accounts are Settled & discharged by my
Executors hereafter named----------------------------------------------------------
I give to my beloved wife Sarah Walker the Land I now live on during
during her Life ; and all the Stock of each kind & the Household
furniture untill my Daughter Sarah S. Walker & my Son Leonard
W. Walker come of Age or marry : then I desire they should have as
much of either of those Articles, together with Stock of each kind
as she can spare & the above land at my wife's Death to my
Daughter Sarah S. Walker and her heirs forever ------------------------
An the Land on James River to my Son Leonard W. Walker to him and his
heirs forever ---------- I also desire when my affairs are settled & all my Debts
paid that my Negroes be emancipated According to law excepting
one known by the name of Lud, whose Service of two years I reserve
longer than the rest : then he also shall be Liberated. --------- And those
that are under age & over forty to be equally in the care of my beloved
wife, Daughter, & Son ---------- I desire that the above may be done by
Capt. Benjamin Jones and my Brother David Walker whom
I appoint executors of this my last Will and Testament

Brunswick County Court October 26th 1789

This will was proved according to law by the Oaths
of Thomas B. Walker, Thomas Carter and Stephen Brown the
Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded and on the Motion
of Benjamin Jones one of the Executors therein named who made Oath thereto and together with
John Stith his Security entered into and acknowledged a Bond
in the penalty Ten Thousand pounds Conditioned as the Law
directs Certificate is granted him for Obtaining a probate thereof
in due form
