This indenture made this eleventh day of January Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety three by Muscoe Livingston of the County of Essex in the State of Virginia. Witnesseth that the said Muscoe Livingstone for diverse good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath liberated set free and emancipated and by these presents doth liberate set free and emancipate William Orange a mulatto child slave now the property of the said Muscoe Livingston and according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided doth execute seal and deliver this indenture in the presence of

At a court held for Essex County at Tapp. on the 21st day of Jan’y 1793 this deed of emancipation was proved by the oaths of Francis Brooke, Ro. Baylor, and Tho’s Pitts, three of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
