I Paul Micou of the County of Essex and State of Virginia who is the lawfull heir of the late James Micou decd of the County Caroline do hereby certify and declare to the known world that the bearer Prince formerly a Slave to James Ritchie and Coy. of Glasgow in Great Britain is by these presents emancipated and freed to all intents & purposes from me and those who may hereafter claim by from or under me, Witness my hand and Seal this 16th day of April 1789.
