In the name of God Amen. I William [?Vere or Vore?] of Accomack County being sick and weak in body but in perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that give it; and body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent burial at the discretion of my friends and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give, demise, and dispose of my property in the following manner and form. First, I lend to my well beloved Mother Ann Vere my negro girl named Jinne during her natural life & also give to my mother a bond against [?Aanes?] Underhill Jun’r for L24.1.3 of interest, my silver watch and fifteen dollars cash and a pan of silver knee buckles and a set of breast buckle also five pounds which is part of a small sum of money due me from Edmond Cropper. I give to my brother Thomas Vere my best blue coat vest, coat, & breeches & my other blue coat, cloth waistcoat, and velvet breeches, summer waistcoats, [illegible] my hat & my boots, and a pair winter stockings, and great coat.
Item I lend to my sister Kitty Cropper after the death of my mother my negro girl Jenne during her life, and at her death I give the said negro girls to the heirs of my sister Kitty Cropper lawfully begotten of her body and for want of such heirs, the negro girl Jinne to be free.
Item I give to my sister in law my chest.
Item I give to my brother in law Edmund Cropper my new nankeen coat, silk waistcoat, and nankeen breeches, also my black cloth coat, also the twelve pound two shillings & six pence which he oweth me without paying the five pounds to my mother which is given her in the above will.
Item I give to Betsey Elliott daughter of Thomas & [Kurzea?] Elliott my silver [?whistle?].
Item I give to my boy John [?ears?] my sailor clothes & jacket, a pair of trousers & a pair of shoes. I also appoint my mother Ann Vore Executrix to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 20th day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.

At a court held for Northampton County the 11th day of July 1796. This will was proved and ordered to be recorded & upon the motion of Anne Vore Executrix therein appointed, and she having taken the oath and given bond with security according to law, a certificate is granted her to obtain a probate thereof in due form.
