Know all Men by these Preasants that
I . John Harrisson of Princess Anne County do believe
that God created all men equally free , I do hereby
emancepate and set free my Negro Man named
Owen for him to go free from this day aged
about thirty three or four Years of Age. In
Witness whereof I do heareby relinquish all claim
title or Intrest in him from and after this Day
above mentioned. for myself, my Heirs and Assigns
for ever . for the due performance of which I . have
hereunto set my Hand and Affixed my Seal .
this Day September the 4th. Day 1797 .

At a Court Held for Princess Anne County the 4th. day of September 1797
The above Deed of Emancipation from John Harrisson
to his Negro Man Owen was acknowledged by the
said John Harrisson and Ordered to be Recorded
Teste .
