Know all men by these presents that I Wyndham Robertson of the County of Washington & State of Virginia do hereby (in pursuance of the wishes of her late master Francis Smith dec’d) wholly emancipate and set free my slave Susanna from this time forever. As witness my hand and seal this first day of November 1844.

At a court held for Washington County the 25th day of November 1844. This deed of emancipation from Wyndham Robertson to his slave Susannah was approved in court by the oaths of Jacob Lynch and Richard H Lynch the witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Robertson and ordered to be recorded.
