I hereby wholly emancipate and set free Eliza sometimes called Eliza Philips (in pursuance of the wishes of her late master F Smith dec’d) from this time forever. Witness my hand and seal this 13th day of November 1844.

This deed of emancipation from Wyndham Robertson to his slave Eliza, alias Eliza Philips, was proved in court by the oaths of Jacob Lynch and Connally F. Trigg, the witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Robertson, and ordered to be recorded.
