Know all men by these presents that I Peter T. Johnson of the County of Orange and State of Virginia have emancipated, manumitted, and set free, and by these presents do manumit, emancipate and set free a negro man slave named Peter Parker and I hereby declare him the said Peter Parker to be entirely liberated from slavery and entitled to all the rights and privileges of a free person with which it is in my power to vest him. He the said Peter Parker hereby emancipated is a man of rather a light complexion, with one leg cut off above the knee and about sixty five years of age. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty six.

This deed of emancipation from Peter T. Johnson to his slave Peter Parker was this day acknowledged before me in the office aforesaid by the said Peter T. Johnson and admitted to record.
