In the name of God Amen I Mary Watson of the Parish of Christ Church and County of Middlesex, being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say.
1st I desire that the sum of twenty two dollars may be paid to Mr. George Healy, and the sum of three dollars to Mr. John Southgate, which are all the debts I owe.
2ndly Being very desirous that my two slaves Peter and Jinny (who are husband and wife) should be emancipated, and set free, under the Act of Assembly in that case made and provided, and that my executor hereafter named, may immediately after my death see the same carried completely in to effect.
3rdly My desire is that for the support of the said Peter and Jinny and their future increase, all the part of my land running from the deceased Robert Watson’s line to the road leading to Urbanna Creek may be given to them the said Peter and Jinny and their future increase forever together with all and every species of stock, household and kitchen furniture, and all plantation utensils, also the crops of every description at present growing on my said land, I give to them in manner and form as aforesaid.
4thly All the rest and residue of my land that is to say from the other side of the road to the Creek aforesaid, to the line of thirty one acres sold to Captain James Healy I give to Thomas Denison and have to request of him that he will have a resurvey of the said thirty one acres aforesaid, as I have my doubts whether there are a considerable number of acres of land, more than the said survey expresses; and any overplus that may appear on the resurvey I also give to the said Thomas J. Denison the whole to him and his heirs forever.
5thly Whereas the Court of Middlesex did at their quarterly term in November 1817 make an order that the sheriff should pay me the sum of sixty dollars for and on account of my boarding two of the children of the decease George Sydner Daniel, which sum is still due and unpaid, and it is my wish that the same should be collected, and the said George Healy and John Southgate, paid their respective claims out of the same, and the balance over I give to the before named Thomas Denison and his heirs.
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint James Ross executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

At a court held for Middlesex County at the courthouse in Urbanna on Monday the 22nd day of October 1821. This last will and testament of Mary Watson dec’d was this day produced in court by James Ross executor therein named and being proved by the oaths of Thomas Bray & William Baker two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of the said James Ross executor therein named he is permitted to qualify, and thereupon entered into bond with security and qualified according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate in due form.
