I James Ross of the town of Urbanna in the County of Middlesex and State of Virginia, for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving &c, do emancipate and set free my negro woman Daphne and her son James Corbin with all their future increase agreeably to the Acts of Assembly in that case made and provided. In testimony whereof I the said James Ross have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and six.

At a court held for Middlesex County at the courthouse in Urbanna on Monday the 24th day of February 1806. This deed of emancipation from James Ross to his slaves Daphne and her son James Corbin was acknowledged by the said James Ross to be his act and deed, and ordered to be recorded.
