In the name of God Amen. I Jesse Harcum of Northumberland and County of Virginia, being at present in perfect memory do make this my last will and testament as follows.
1st I give to my sister Margret B. Thomas my bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever.
2nd I give to my niece Salley Gill one cow to her and her heirs forever.
3 I give my negro boy Joe his freedom and 4 I give to my brother Rodham Harcum all the rest of my estate to him and his heirs forever.
I do nominate and appoint my brother Rodham Harcum executor of this my last will and testament, revoking and disannulling of all other will or wills by me made.
In testimony witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of March 1798.

At a court of monthly session held for Northumberland County at the courthouse on Monday the 12th of April 1800.
This writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Jesse Harcum dec’d without a subscribing witness thereto was offered to proof & Thomas Betts & Joshua Cockarill being sworn declared, they believe the said will was wholly written & signed by the said Jesse, whereupon the same is ordered to be recorded.
