In the name of God Amen the 24 day of February in the year of our Lord 1793 I Mary Welch in the County of Northumberland and Parish of St. Stephen being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian-like and decent manner at the discretion of my Exors nothing doubting, but at the great resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath please God to bless me in life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner.
I leave my daughter Nancy Welch three pounds.
Item I gave my daughter Mary Welch three pounds or the best bed.
Item I gave my daughter Winnefred Jones three pounds credit in the store.
Item I gave my daughter Sally Cornish three pounds credit in the store.
Item I gave my son Robert Welch four pounds and one years cowling.
Item I gave my son Daniel Welch and Isaac Welch my negro man Moses and the oxen and cart, and one bed, and one cow and calf. And I desire that my negro man may be set free after my son Isaac comes to the age of twenty three years.
So I do appoint William H. Jaquis and Samuel Davis to be my whole and sole Executor of this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal in the presence of us.

At a court held for Northumberland County at the courthouse on Monday the 9th of September 1793. This last will and testament of Mary Welch dec’d was proved in open court by the oaths of Samuel Davis & Judith Davis witnesses thereto and is ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Samuel Davis, one of the Executors therein named, a certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form, he having taken the oath of an Executor, and together with Richard Cornish, Robert Crowther, & Richard Ball his securities entered into & acknowledged a bond in the penalty of four hundred pounds, conditioned as the law directs.
