I Charles Lewis of York County do hereby emancipate, liberate and wholly set free Mingo a negro man slave late the property of my brother William Lewis of the City of Williamsburg, the right to the said slave Mingo having been transferred to me by the legal representatives of the said William Lewis. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 13th day of February 1794.

This deed of emancipation was acknowledged by Charles Lewis the party thereto and ordered to be recorded.
