To whom all it may concern, know ye, that I Christopher S. Moring of Surry County do by these presents emancipate and set at full liberty from myself, my heirs and all persons claiming under me a certain slave named Amy, being about thirty one years of age to be free on this twenty second day of April eighteen hundred, likewise Gray, who is about two years old to be free at twenty one years of age in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the twenty second day of April eighteen hundred.

The within written deed of emancipation from Christopher S. Moring to negroes Amy and Gray was acknowledged by the said Christopher to be his act and deed, and was by the court ordered to be recorded.
