Know all men by these presents that I Edward Holladay of the County of Spotsylvania and State of Virginia divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have liberated, manumitted, and set free and by these presents do liberate, manumit and set free my negro man slave named Walker who is about thirty five years of age, and who was purchased by me from David Bronaugh of the County of Louisa some time in or about the year eighteen hundred and thirty. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this the fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.

At a court held for Spotsylvania County the 5th day of August 1833. This deed of emancipation from Edward Holladay to his negro slave Walker was acknowledged by the said Edward Holladay and is ordered to be recorded.
