Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Day executor of Charles Yates deceased pursuance of the last will and testament of the said Charles Yates do hereby emancipate and set free the following negroes to wit: Bett, Dick, Frank, and James Jackson. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6th day of February 1809.

This letter of emancipation was acknowledged by the said Benjamin Day, executor of Charles Yate dec’d and ordered to be recorded.
