Know all men by these presents that I Mary Page of the Town of Fredericksburg & State of Virginia for and in consideration of the past good conduct of my negro woman named Polly, do by these presents liberate, emancipate and set free from all manner of slavery and servitude whatsoever the said negro woman slave named Polly and do declare her to be in as perfect a state of freedom and entitled to all the privileges and advantages arising therefrom as she can legally enjoy. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 25th day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and five.
