Know all men by these presents that I John Chew, Executor of Robert Chew dec’d, for and in consideration of the services heretofore done and performed by Janey, alias James Gordon, do by these presents emancipate and set free the said Janey (James Gordon) and I do hereby absolve and discharge the said Janey alias James Gordon from all rights or further services which I may ever heretofore have been entitled to from him. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 30th day of May 1790.

At a court continued and held for Spotsylvania County on Wednesday the 8th day of June 1790.
This writing from under the hand and seal of John Chew, Executor of Robert Chew Gent dec’d, for the emancipation of January alias James Gordon was acknowledged by the said John Chew and ordered to be recorded.
