Taylor & Al to Negro Daniel Deed of Emancipation
Know all men by these presents that we Hannah Taylor, Sam’l McCormick Guar of Wm & Eliza Taylor, W.F. Jones infant son & heir of Florinda Jones dec’d & George W. Hammond Grear of his infant children heirs of Sarah Hammond dec’d do herein and hereby manumit negro Daniel aged about 46 years blind of the left eye to be & continue a free man from this time & henceforth.
Witness our hands & seals this 16th day of December 1847.

At a court held for the County aforesaid on Monday the 24th day of January 1848 deed of manumission from Hannah Taylor, Samuel McCormick guardian of Wm & Eliza Taylor, Wm F. Jones, guardian of his infant son & heir of Florinda Jones dec’d & George W. Hammond of his infant children heirs of Sarah Hammond dec’d to negro slave Daniel aged about 46 years & blind of the left eye was proven in court by the oaths of P. McCormick, Treadwell Smith, and Jacob Isler, the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
