To all to whom it may concern, know ye that I Ann Green of Culpeper County, for divers good causes me thereunto moving, but more especially for and in consideration of the impropriety of my holding in slavery my fellow creature, do hereby emancipate the negro herein after named in manner and form following to wit: Leanah immediately upon this instrument being received and admitted to record. And do hereby for myself, my heirs, Executors, and Administrators or any other person or persons claiming by from or under me any right in and to the said negro or the future increase of the said Leanah, exonerate and discharge from bondage as above declared. Given under my hand and seal this 15th day of September 1794.
