Know all men by these presents that I Henry Wood of the County of Scott and State of Virginia, have manumitted, emancipated and set free, and by these presents do manumit emancipate and set free, a Negro man slave named Jacob and a Negro woman slave named Sealy of the County of Scott and State of Virginia aforesaid. And I hereby declare him the said Jacob her the said Sealy to be entirely liberated from Slavery, and entitled to all the rights and privileges of free persons with which it is in my power to vest them, he the said Jacob hereby emancipated, is a man of Yello Complection[sic] about six feed one inch high and was forty five years old on the 4th day of August last, and she the said Sealy hereby emancipated, is a woman of yellow complection[sic] about five feet three inches high and is at this time about fifty years old. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty one.

This deed executed by Henry Wood Senr[?] emancipating his negro man Jacon and his Negro woman Sealy, was acknowledged in court by the said Henry Wood to be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded.
