Know all men by these presents that I Evelina Graham, for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars in hand paid, the receipts whereof is hereby acknowledged have manumitted & set free from slavery & do hereby manumit & set free from slavery my negro man George Ranson. And I do hereby give, grant, and release unto the said George Ranson all my right, title and claim of in & to his person, labor and services, and of, in & to all the estate and property which he may hereafter acquire and obtain.
Witness my hand & seal this 7th day of May 1858.

Corporation of Winchester to wit
I John Kerr a Justice of the Peace for the Corporation aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that Evelina Graham whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date the 7th day of May 1858 has acknowledged the same before me in my Corporation aforesaid. Given under my hand this 10th day of November 1859.

On the 10th day of November 1859 this deed of emancipation was produced to me Clerk of the Court of the Corporation aforesaid with certificate annexed and admitted to record.
