Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Taylor Executrix and general devisee of Bushrod Taylor dec’d for a good and valuable consideration have emancipated and set free and by these presents do emancipate and set free negro Frank or Frank Humphries a man slave belonging to the estate of said Bushrod Taylor dec’d and a woman named Matilda Robinson also belonging to said estate, hereby granting to said Frank Humphreys and Matilda Robinson a full and perfect right to their freedom from this time forth, quit and discharged from all claim of service on my part or on the part of said estate.
In testimony of which I have hereto set my hand and seal this 13th of January in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and forty eight.

At a court held for the Corporation of Winchester in the 5 day of February 1848. This deed of emancipation was proved by the oaths of G.W. Hammond and James B. Franklin and ordered to recorded.
