I George Baker of the Corporation of Winchester and State of Virginia, do hereby emancipate and set free my negro man Harry commonly called Harry Bazell, now aged about forty eight years, and do hereby release & discharge the said Harry from all claims & demands for services due to me or my heirs & assigns forever. But this deed and right intended to be hereby conferred on said negro Harry is suspended and to be wholly void & inoperative unless said Harry shall leave the State of Virginia within three months from the date hereof forever. In testimony of which I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 3rd day of August 1839.

At a court continued and held for the Corporation of Winchester the 5th day of August 1839.
This deed of emancipation from George W. Baker to negro Harry Bazell was acknowledged by the said George W. Baker and ordered to be recorded. And it is ordered to be certified that the said Harry is above the age of forty five years.
