I John W. Miller of Winchester Virginia, do hereby emancipate and set free my negro man John commonly called John Jackson, now aged about 26 years, & do release and discharge the said John from all claims & demands for services due to me or my heirs and assigns forever, and to pass the said negro man John a complete title to freedom. In testimony of which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of November 1836.

This deed of emancipation was acknowledged by John W. Miller party thereto and ordered to be recorded.
