Know all men by these presents that I John Heveningham of the county of Chesterfield for & in consideration of thirty seven pounds to me in hand paid by Robert Pollock for & in behalf of my negro woman slave named Fanny; do emancipate & set free from all further service or bondage, the said slave. And I hereby covenant with the said Robert Pollock that I have full power right & authority to liberate her as aforesaid. Witness my hand & seal this 9th day of January in the year of our Lord 1800.
